Gambling is a recreational activity that has been enjoyed across the UK for hundreds of years. Recently though, gambling has changed significantly as bookmakers have migrated to online sportsbooks for sports betting and the best casino sites offer more games than a land-based casino ever could.

However, Brits still enjoy visiting bingo halls and land-based casinos for the human element. Yes, online platin casino games exist, but it’s not the same as chatting with the dealer and other players in person.

Today, we’re going to look at which are the largest cities across the United Kingdom when it comes to gambling and where you can find prestigious casinos.

    London

It’s obvious to find the capital, one of the largest cities in the UK on this list. London is home to some of the most prestigious casinos. The city houses about 35 casinos that offer slot machines, table games, and poker tournaments.

These can be massive occupying two to three floors of a building or standard one-floor casinos. Some have exclusive membership while the rest are open to all types of punters. Regardless, you can expect to rub shoulders with high rollers on these gaming spots.

The Casino at The Empire is the largest hosting over 120 slots, 50 table games, and 5 poker tables. Others that are worth mentioning are The Hippodrome, Forty-Five Kensington Casino, Grosvenor Victoria Casino, and Crockford’s.

    Cardiff

The capital of Wales is a great tourist destination with a vibrant nightlife. Casino fans have several options in this city for a night out with friends or a serious evening of trying to win. They even come with restaurants and bars as you’d expect from a casino in a major city.

Sadly, The Rainbow Casino in Cardiff won’t be reopening and so the local Rainbow Casino is now in Bristol. Others casinos that are a still open and a must-visit include Les Croupiers Casino and Grosvenor Casino Cardiff. These don’t just offer gambling facilities for all types of punters but also feature dining areas and bars.

    Manchester

Manchester is also a great tourist destination that boasts hundreds of bars, landmark buildings, and of course land-based casinos. Many locals and football fans that travel to Manchester for matches at Old Trafford and The Etihad will go here on the weekend.

Among the best casinos to visit here include Manchester 235, Grosvenor Casino Soames, Grosvenor Casino Manchester, and Genting Casino Manchester. These gaming places feature live events such as musicians, as well as poker tournaments. There’s also a plethora of dining options offering both local and international cuisines.

Casinos here also ooze with elegance some providing intimate and exclusive gaming sections for high rollers. Regardless, all types of punters have a spot in Manchester casinos.

    Glasgow

This port city located on the River Clyde has a lot to offer when it comes to gambling. Players can try out new casinos as well as casinos that date back to the 1990s. Additionally, the city hosts iconic venues that are a must-visit when in Glasgow.

Overlooking river Clyde is Alea Glasgow, which is a spectacular gaming spot spread across 2 floors. Other casinos to visit include Grosvenor Casino Merchant City, The Cotton Club Casino, Grosvenor Casino Riverboat, and Genting Casino.

    Birmingham

Birmingham boasts of being a city that has preserved its history thus offering a lot of sightseeing for tourists. Despite being a populous city, the number of casinos in this city is enough to cater to tourists and residents that live in the area.

The casinos here are ever busy as they welcome players from all walks of life. There are exclusive casino tables for VIPs as well as standard blackjack, baccarat, and roulette tables, plus a dedicated area for slot machines.

Casinos worth your time and money include Broadway Casino, Genting Casino, Grosvenor, and Rainbow Casino. Each of these offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks plus great meals.
