With the school summer holidays in full swing, Parkdean Resorts has revealed the top 10 beaches in Wales according to TikTok to enjoy this summer!

Searches for ‘Wales holiday’ have spiked by 26% in the last month as travellers flock to the country for the summer but it’s the beaches that have really grown in popularity. Searches for ‘wales beach’ have spiked by 41% to 33,000 searches as people head to the sunny shores.

The study analysed TikTok data to see which is the most hashtagged and viewed beaches on the popular social media app to reveal the most aesthetic, and best beaches round the country.

So who came top?

The 10 best beaches in Wales according to TikTok

1. Freshwater West Beach (Pembrokeshire) – 341m views

Freshwater West Beach (Pembrokeshire)

With an astonishing 341 million views on TikTok, Freshwater West is the top beach destination in Wales according to TikTok viewers. Known as surfers paradise, the beach combines sand and rocks to please every traveller alongside its astonishing views..

2. Whitesands Beach  (Pembrokeshire)- 17.2 million views

Whitesands Beach (Pembrokeshire)

Taking second place is Whitesands Beach. The fine white sands make this beach an absolute beauty which is probably why it scores so high for video content on TikTok with 17.2 million views. The beach has excellent water quality with a tonne of watersports to choose from.

3. West Shore Beach Llandudno – (Clwd)  – 11.1 million views

West Shore Beach Llandudno – (Clwd)

Ranked on TikTok as the third most popular beach in Wales, this is also regarded as a quieter location so coupled with its sandy shores, it has become extremely popular with visitors.

4. Aberystwyth Beach (Ceredigion) – 9 million views

This traditional seaside beach has racked up an impressive 9 million views on TikTok thanks to its traditional sights and seafront. This popular family beach in Ceredigion is perfect for visitors throughout August.

5. Shell Island (Gwynedd) – 5.5 million views

Located in a sweet picturesque village this beach boasts calm and quiet with a variety of amenities in walking distance from the sandy shores which has helped it hit 4.47m views on TIkTok.

8. Tywyn Beach (Gwynedd) – 2.9 million views

This golden beach taking 8th place has garnered an impressive 2.9 million views on TikTok. Translated from Welsh as ‘seaside and sand dunes’ that’s exactly what this miles of beach delivers.
