Two Central Square has been recognised as one of the best workplaces in the South of England and South Wales at the annual British Council for Offices’ (BCO) regional awards, held yesterday [Thursday 9th May] at We the Curious, Bristol.

The prestigious BCO Awards programme recognises the highest quality developments in the UK and sets the standard for excellence in the regional and national office sector.

In addition, the following workplaces won awards:

    • Promenade House, Bristol, Best Project up to 1,500sqm Award
    • Victoria Gate, Woking, Best Refurbished / Recycled Workplace Award
    • Herb House, Pukka Herbs, Bristol, Best Fit-Out Workplace Award
    • No. 2 Forbury Place, Reading, Best Commercial Workplace Award

Two Central Square in Cardiff, home to law firm Hugh James, was awarded the Corporate Workplace Award for its impressive and unique space which takes into consideration employee wellbeing and enables collaboration through the inclusion of communal areas.

Cardiff celebrated further success with Rightacres Property Co’s Paul McCarthy receiving the BCO Committee Chair’s Award for his ongoing contribution to the region’s commercial property market.

[aoa id=”1″]Alistair Allison, Partner at TFT Consultants and BCO South of England and South Wales Judging Chair commented: “The success of this project is down to the client and developer working closely together from inception to delivery, to create a bespoke office which clearly meets the clients objectives, attracting talent and provides luxurious visiting client facilities rarely seen outside London.”[/aoa]

Andy Heath, Partner at Cushman & Wakefield and BCO South of England and South Wales Regional Committee Chair, added: “The key objectives for Hugh James, the law firm letting this plot, was to create an incredible workplace which exceeds the expectations of the firm’s staff and clients. After extensive research, the resulting space is high quality and promotes staff wellbeing and collaboration with an internal stair and staff canteen.”

Yesterday’s ceremony marked the 11th year of the BCO Regional Property Awards dedicated to the South of England and South Wales, celebrating the best office space in the country. South of England and South Wales winners will compete with those from other regions at the BCO National Awards in October this year.
