PLANED, the organisation supporting individuals and communities across Pembrokeshire, is pleased to announce three new appointments to its Board of Trustees, bringing extensive business knowledge and experience from across the county.

At the recent PLANED AGM and well attended Annual Conference in the Merlin Theatre, the new appointments were confirmed, and this week, the Chair of the Board, Lynne Upsdell, the Treasurer, Gordon Barry, and the Chief Executive, Iwan Thomas, formally met the three new Trustees to welcome them and discuss plans for the future.

Speaking about the new appointments, Iwan said: “We restructured in Spring this year, we have new staff members in post and a new organisational strategy looking to the future, strengthening our continued commitment to support communities and ideas that are innovative and inclusive. I’m delighted to welcome our three new Board Members, Gareth Davies, Tir Dewi; Paula Ellis, Retreats Group; and Gareth Reynolds, Dale Sailing.  They bring significant experience in business, marketing, and community responsibility, and will be a great positive addition to direct and support the team in continuing to evolve and deliver according to PLANED’s core ethos and vision.”

The three new PLANED Trustees are:

Gareth Davies is currently the Executive Officer at Tir Dewi, which is a charity providing a Helpline for farmers across west Wales and follow-up support to help them overcome their issues. Prior to this, Gareth was a UK company Director for many years for a London based executive recruitment & leadership firm, and also a marketing consultant.

Gareth Reynolds is the Managing Director of Dale Sailing based in Neyland, and is now the third generation of the Reynolds’ family at the helm of the business. A commercial skipper and water-sports instructor, Gareth plays an active and hands-on role in the day-to-day operations of the business, and continues to develop and grow the business both locally and internationally.

Paula Ellis is the Group General Manager for the Retreats Group, which owns and runs Twr-y-Felin Hotel, Roch Castle, and Penrhiw Priory here in Pembrokeshire. Paula has extensive management experience within the hospitality and tourism sector across Wales leading sector establishments, and has also previously been the Marketing Manager for Cardiff Wales Airport, and the Manager of Oriel y Parc for the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
