Lido Ponty has confirmed tickets for the start of its main 2023 season will go on sale from 9am on Friday, March 17.

Lido lovers will be able to secure all sessions that will take place at the beloved attraction in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd, from April 1 to April 30.

The first two weeks of this period are the Easter holidays, meaning Lido Ponty is open seven days a week, offering two early morning swim sessions in the main and activity pools, followed by six family fun sessions where all three pools are open and the inflatables/water zorb and pedal boats are out.

Once the Easter holidays are over, from Monday, April 17, Lido Ponty returns to its familiar term-time timetable, offering two early morning swims on weekdays and two early morning swims, followed by six family fun sessions, on weekends.

You can view the term time and school holidays timetable here:

The return of the main season follows on from two successful cold water swim trials, which saw swimmers flock from London, West Wales and the Midlands to enjoy winter dips, where the water temperature was reduced to 15 degrees. Don’t worry, pool temperatures return to 28 degrees for the main season!

Boxing Day and New Year’s Day swims also made a welcome return, selling out within hours of tickets going on sale.

Cllr Ann Crimmings, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Leisure, said: “Lido Ponty continues to be a jewel in the crown for Rhondda Cynon Taf, attraction people from all over the UK who want to bathe in its heated waters or enjoy family time in the summer.

“Even better, these visitors also take advantage of the wider surroundings of Lido Ponty, spending time in beautiful Ynysangharad War Memorial Park and the Lido Play adventure playground and enjoying food, drink, shopping and history in award-winning Pontypridd town centre.

“The 2023 season looks set to be another busy one for the team at Lido Ponty, who work tirelessly to ensure everyone has the best-possible experience. We look forward to welcoming return customers and new visitors this year.”

Tickets will be released for sale at 9am on Friday, March 17 via www.lidoponty.co.uk

Tickets cost £3 per adult and free for those aged 16 and under. Those who wish to enjoy the inflatable activities need to buy an activity band – either online with their tickets or on reception when they arrive at Lido Ponty. Bands are £2.50 for every person who wants to go on the inflatables.
