When buying a car, everyone has priorities. The car buying process is overwhelming and takes time, and it’s easy to get off track. You can make the process easier by noting a list of features that mean the most to you.

In this article, we will discuss things to consider when buying a new car.

    Safety

Having access to several safety features can save you money down the road. It can lower the insurance premiums you have to pay every month due to the lower likelihood of crashing and damaging the car. More importantly, you won’t have to worry about costly repairs every so often.

Essential safety features include backup cameras, parking assist, and airbags that keep you safe during accidents. Sensors detect that a vehicle or object is approaching the car’s path. You should also consider the safety rating provided by ANCAP. For example, the most recent iteration of the Toyota Hilux has an ANCAP rating of 5 stars.

    Vehicle Tracking

These days you can never be too careful when it comes to protecting your investment. A vehicle tracking system allows is an important tool that can help you recover your car in case it gets stolen. Most cars are equipped with a GPS tracking system and lets you know when the car is on the road and where it is currently located. This will help law enforcement agencies find the vehicle faster.

    Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

These features sync your car’s infotainment system with your smartphone’s interface. It lets you send texts, receive calls, listen to podcasts, stream music, check out maps, and use various popular phone apps. No modern infotainment system is complete without integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Fast Charging Outlets for Phones and Laptops

Most of us hit the road with several gadgets in tow – such as phones, tablets, and laptops. It can be especially challenging to keep them all fully charged. This is where a built-in USB charging outlet comes in. It lets you plug all your devices into the car’s charging outlet.

It’s worth noting that not all USB outlets are fast charging – with some phones losing charge even when they are plugged in! Make sure your car comes with a fast charging USB outlet.

    Tire Pressure Monitoring

Most brand new cars feature tyre pressure monitoring systems from the get-go. Overinflated or flat tyres can be dangerous on the road also result in fuel wastage. It’s a well-known fact that most vehicles waste fuel when the tire pressure is inadequate.

This will also cause more wear and tear to your tyres if they are not inflated properly. All of this can increase your expenses.

    Power Tailgate

The sales of SUVs like the Toyota Hilux continue to be on the rise due to their practicality. After all, you’re getting a car that is bigger and packed with more features, and therefore, more convenient. One of the features these days is a power tailgate. This feature lets you lower or raise the tailgate with the touch of a button.

    360-Degree Camera System

A 360-Degree Camera System can be helpful when parking a car or driving out of a parking lot. These systems provide drivers with more spatial awareness of the vehicle, as if they were watching the car from above. More importantly, it also helps them check for objects and children near their vicinity, especially when they are backing the car.

    Keyless Entry

This feature comes in handy if your hands are full due to groceries or you don’t like whipping out the keys every time you need to enter or exit the vehicle. Many car models now come with this must-have feature. With the push of a button, you can open your car’s door and get inside.

Some cars also come with remote controls that let you open the car trunk to load up groceries and other items as you walk up to the car.

    Smart Suspension

The car’s suspension plays an important role in keeping the drive comfortable and smooth on the road despite the presence of bumps. To make further improvements, new cars come with smart suspension features that make the ride smoother for most road conditions.

Smart suspension can increase or lower the load on individual wheels to adjust to the conditions of the road.

    Multi Zone Climate Systems

Multi-zone climate systems utilize multiple thermostats, sensors, and dampers to control the temperature in different ‘zones’ in your car. This means that every passenger has access to their own temperature controls, and therefore, as comfortable as they want during the trip.
