Wales is set to enjoy more warm sunshine at the start of the week before conditions turn more unsettled, according to the latest forecast from the Met Office.
With the school summer holidays now underway, Monday is expected to begin on a bright note, with early cloud breaking up through the morning to leave plenty of warm sunshine across much of the country.
However, the Met Office says cloud will build again during the afternoon, bringing the chance of a few scattered showers. Temperatures are expected to reach a warm high of 27°C.
Overnight, conditions will become more mixed. Northern and western parts of Wales are likely to see a cloudy evening and night with outbreaks of rain, some of which could be heavy. Further south and east, it is expected to stay largely dry with occasional clear spells. Overnight temperatures will fall to around 16°C.
Tuesday is forecast to be more unsettled, with plenty of cloud and showers, some of which could be heavy and accompanied by local thunder. Despite the changeable conditions, brighter spells will still bring some warm weather, with highs of around 23°C.
Looking further ahead, Wednesday is expected to be cooler and breezier, with further showers possible.
The weather is then set to improve towards the end of the week, with Thursday and Friday looking drier and less breezy. While there will be some sunny spells, temperatures will feel noticeably fresher than at the start of the week.
