Make Aberdare Festival part of your Spring Bank Holiday plans and join us for lots of entertainment in the stunning surrounds of Aberdare Park on Saturday, May 25!

As always, the popular event will have something for all the family including lots of free entertainment!

The event runs from 11am – 5pm, entry is FREE and the entertainment this year will include:

    • Free outdoor cinema – bring a picnic rug and enjoy the recently released musical fantasy Wonka!
    • Live Music Stage – more info on our fantastic performers will be available soon at www.aberdarefestival.co.uk and @whatsonrct on facebook, twitter and Instagram.
    • Free Petting Farm – always a huge hit with our younger visitors!
    • Food, craft and information stalls
    • Land Train – pick up your wristband from the What’s On marquee for only £1 and ride in style all day around the park!
    • Childrens’ Donkey Rides – another popular activity for our younger visitors.  Rides cost £1 and tokens can be purchased from the What’s On marquee.
    • Bar and beer garden – the bar will be run by local brewers, Grey Trees Brewery and drinks can be enjoyed in the beer garden area.
    • Funfair – as always there will be rides and stalls for younger visitors as well as larger rides for the thrill seekers.

In addition to all this fantastic entertainment, for the first time ever, Aberdare Festival will also host Teddy Bears’ Picnic.  The popular event for the under 5’s will take place around the bandstand area and will include information on services available to parents and carers of pre-school age children.

Cllr Maureen Webber, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Council Business, said: “Aberdare Festival is always a great way to start the Spring Bank Holiday as thousands of residents and visitors enjoy all the entertainment on offer as well as all the activities in Aberdare Park, such as the lake and boats and Aquadare splashpad. Aberdare Park is just one of the beautifully maintained parks that we are so lucky to have in Rhondda Cynon Taf and provides the perfect backdrop for Aberdare Festival.  Come along and enjoy a great day out for all the family.”

Further information will be confirmed in the coming weeks so please follow @whatsonrct on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates.  Information will also be available on the festival’s website www.aberdarefestival.co.uk
