Gower Unearthed CIC is set to host an extraordinary event featuring the acclaimed explorer and BAFTA Cymru award-winning BBC presenter, Will Millard, in a unique opportunity to embark on a journey of discovery with one of the UK’s foremost adventurers, writers and filmmakers.

In a special talk, meet and greet, and show-and-tell to be held at Bishopston Primary School, Gower, on Sunday February 18, Millard will share captivating stories and unveil artefacts from his groundbreaking expeditions. Thanks to funding from the Welsh Government Sustainable Development Fund and Gower AONB, the event is free to attend and will begin at 10am, running for approximately two hours.

This hands-on workshop promises an immersive experience, featuring a diverse array of items, including jungle packrafts, tribal shields, bows, hand-made footballs, instruments, and wood carvings collected from the depths of the forest. There will also be the opportunity to see some real jungle animals and insects up close.

Renowned for his roles in BAFTA Cymru winning BBC series, such as “Hunters of the South Seas,” “My Year With the Tribe,” and “Hidden Wales,” Will Millard will share his extraordinary experiences working in nature and living with some of the remotest communities on earth.

Will Millard, explorer, author, and TV presenter, said:

“I’m thrilled to join Gower Unearthed CIC for this unique event. Exploring the world and living among remote communities has been an incredible journey for me. I’m excited to share the stories, artefacts, and a piece of the adventure with the community. It’s a fantastic opportunity for us all to connect, learn, and be inspired by the wonders of the natural world. See you there!”

Helen Nicholas, founder of Gower Unearthed CIC, added:

“We are honoured to host Will Millard and provide our community with an opportunity to connect with a real-life adventurer. This event aligns with our mission to engage with and inspire schools and the local community and discover and preserve the rich history of Gower and its surrounding area.”

Due to the expected popularity of the event and limited space, booking in advance is advisable. Secure your spot by RSVPing to [email protected].
