Winter Wonderland has announced an extension of its Ice Skating at Cardiff Castle until January 7th, 2024.

Following the overwhelming positive response from visitors Winter Wonderland is extending its ice-skating rink at Cardiff Castle until January 7th. This will ensure that more families can experience the joy this year and provide something exciting to do in the New Year before returning to school and work.

The Castle Grounds is home to the ice rink, bars and light display. Although the Castle venue will be extended until the 7th of January it’s important that we highlight that the City Lawns venue will close as planned on the 2nd of January.

    What to Expect:

    1. Extended Magic: Winter Wonderland will continue to light up the Castle grounds alongside the very popular ice rink with an array of lights and decorations that evoke the festive spirit.
    2. Festive Atmosphere: Visitors can immerse themselves in the warm glow of thousands of twinkling lights, creating a magical atmosphere perfect for making lasting memories with loved ones.
    3. Seasonal Delights: The extended period allows guests to book ice skating, enjoy the seasonal delights, and appreciate the stunning light display.

    Visitor Information:

    1. Dates: The extended Ice Skating will be open until January 7th, 2024.
    2. Ticketing: Tickets can be purchased online at cardiffswinterwonderland.com. The last 2 sessions of each day will also be ‘disco themed’.
    3. Opening hours: 1:30pm – 21:00pm

Quote from Norman George Sayers of Winter Wonderland “We are delighted that we can extend the magical experience at Cardiff Castle this year. Where everyone can ice skate and enjoy the lights. The overwhelming response from our visitors has been heartwarming, and we want to ensure that as many people as possible can enjoy the festive ambiance and create special memories with their friends and family.”
