The reinstatement and maintenance works at Cardigan Leisure Centre, Lampeter Swimming Pool and Plascrug Leisure Centre are nearing completion and all three facilities will be in a position to re-open in the New Year.

However, there has been a significant increase in the number coronavirus cases in Ceredigion, with some areas of the county being amongst the highest in Wales.

As a result, all Council leisure facilities will close on 23 December 2021. The re-opening date for these facilities will be reviewed in the New Year and will be dependent on the number of coronavirus cases in the County at that time and when it is safe to do so.

When the facilities do re-open, to minimise risk of transmission and to protect both citizens and staff, the following procedures will apply at all facilities:

    • Pre Booking of all activities
    • Take a Lateral Flow Test
    • Reduced capacities
    • Social Distancing to be observed where possible
    • Facemasks to be worn inside the facilities (except when exercising)
    • Card Payments preferred
    • Provision of a Covid Risk Assessment / Return to Play Plan for Community Use

These procedures will be regularly reviewed in accordance with Welsh Government regulations / guidelines and transmission rates within the county.
