A 34-year-old woman who attacked a man with a broken glass bottle has been jailed.

Cassie Evans, of Watery Road, Wrexham struck the victim to the neck with the piece of glass following an unprovoked attack.

The incident on Lord Street, Wrexham happened shortly after 7pm, on 18 August.

The victim was taken to hospital where he received treatment for his injuries.

Evans admitted charges of wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon and at Mold Crown Court today, Monday 3 November, she was jailed for two years and nine months.

She was also issued a five-year restraining order to protect the victim.

North Wales Police Civilian investigator Ann Parry said: “This was a shocking and disturbing incident that happened in a public place, that could have had fatal consequences for the victim.

“Such violence has no place in our streets, and we acted swiftly to arrest Evans and to recover the weapon involved.

“We remain committed to keeping our communities safe and will continue working tirelessly to prevent incidents like this.”
