Cardiff-based Yolk Recruitment has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of recruitment specialist Jamie Wilkinson in the new role of operations director.

Wilkinson joins the award-winning firm with 19 years’ experience in the sector, gained in multiple senior roles in international companies.

Most recently he held the position of managing director of emerging brands at leading talent strategy business, Opus Talent Solutions.

The appointment is a new role for Yolk, which offers recruitment solutions in a range of industries including legal, sales, healthcare, IT, accountancy and finance, marketing, business support and engineering.

The role will see Wilkinson taking a hands-on leadership approach, working with CEO Dale Williams and managing director Duncan Powell to implement Yolk’s ambitious growth strategy.

His role will involve working from the top-down to streamline the firm’s processes, to secure enterprise level business and day to day leadership of the sales function.

It will also involve growing the headcount of the business through various channels including hosting quarterly assessment centres.

    Wilkinson said:

“I am honoured to join such an ambitious, entrepreneurial business with clear growth plans. I am pleased to be joining the team at such a pivotal time. I’m looking forward to taking Yolk to the next level by ensuring both candidates and clients receive the very best service and building a base of talented associate consultants.”

“The culture and environment of the company is what attracted me to the role and the team; we share the same outlook on the recruitment industry which is extremely important to me.”

In 2017, Yolk won a sustainable growth award at Wales’ Fast Growth 50, becoming one of only a handful of companies to appear on the list for five consecutive years. The firm’s CEO, Dale Williams, also recently picked up Entrepreneur of the Year at the Cardiff Business Awards 2018.

The firm is celebrating almost a decade of success in the industry and plans to increase its headcount to 50 by the end of the year, as the business seeks to expand into new markets.

Commenting on Mr Wilkinson’s appointment, Yolk co-founder and CEO Dale Williams said:

“We are thrilled to welcome Jamie to the team. He is an industry heavyweight widely respected for his ability to grow new and established businesses, and his impressive credentials means he brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to Yolk.

“This year has been a record year so far and we are confident that Jamie will play a significant part in our growth as we look to the future.”
