Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has been instructed to sell the historic Goat Hotel and pub in Welshpool, Powys.
The Goat Hotel is a boutique family-run pub and hotel with a 25-seat restaurant and six letting bedrooms. The 17th century inn is located on the high street in Llanfair Caereinion, amidst a scenic backdrop of rolling hills and just a short distance to the River Banwy. For almost 300 years, The Goat Hotel has provided traditional Welsh hospitality on the routes between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth for travellers.
Beyond the restaurant, there is a casual drinks/dining area and a lounge bar with a roaring coal fire during the winter. The inn is known for offering delicious, home-cooked pub food and has an excellent reputation among locals and visiting tourists.
The owners, Alyson and Richard, have owned and managed the pub for the last 40 years and feel ready to retire from the busy life of running an inn.
Alyson commented, “We have considered selling the inn for a while, but never quite taken the plunge. We felt Christie & Co was the obvious choice as an agent, as they have a good reputation in this sector.”
James Dodd, Business Agent at Christie and Co, added, “I’m excited to find a new owner for the Goat Hotel, a well-loved community inn which offers an array of options for a new owner to put their own stamp on it.”
The Goat Hotel is being sold freehold for an asking price of £380,000.
