Rhondda’s Toy Mine experience cancelled for 2020

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, RCT Council has regrettably announced that the Santa’s Toy Mine at the Welsh Mining Experience has been cancelled for 2020 in the interest of public safety.

Last month, RCT announced that all Local Authority-run events, until at least the end of 2020, would be cancelled – including the annual programme of Christmas events in RCT’s principal town centres, as the current Welsh Government restrictions in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic still prevent mass gatherings from taking place.

Despite this, the Council is, however, committed to ensuring that the festive period proceeds with some degree of normality for our residents after an unprecedented and exceptionally difficult year, and the budget allocated to hosting the Christmas events programme will instead help to support additional decorations and displays in the County Borough’s principal town centres
