Sarah Boswell has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer of Wales Netball and the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Dragons after two years in the role.

Wales Netball confirmed the leadership change this week, saying Boswell is leaving to pursue new opportunities outside the organisation.

She communicated her intention to step down to the board at the beginning of September.

During her two years as Chief Executive, Boswell oversaw and implemented the development of Ymladd 2030, Wales Netball’s strategic framework for the sport.

Helen Williams, Chair of Wales Netball, said: “We thank Sarah for the contribution she has made to Wales Netball and the LexisNexis Risk Solutions Dragons over the past two years and wish her well in her next chapter. Our Ymladd 2030 strategy is now well established and we remain focused and committed to delivering against its ambitions. Our senior leadership team and boards contribute a breadth of skills and experience that will continue to provide strong leadership as we move into the next phase of our development.”

Boswell described leading the two organisations as a “privilege” as she reflected on her departure.

Sarah Boswell, outgoing Chief Executive of Wales Netball and LexisNexis Risk Solutions Dragons, said: “Leading Wales Netball and the Dragons has been a privilege. I am proud of what we have achieved together and grateful to everyone who has been part of that. I wish both organisations and the netball community in Wales every success and look forward to what comes next.”

Wales Netball said it will provide a further update on the organisation’s transition in due course.
