Gamers at Swansea University will have the chance to put their EA SPORTS FC 27 skills to the test next month, with a potential route to a World Final in Miami.

The Red Bull Wings Cup is coming to the Swansea University campus on November 3, giving students the opportunity to compete against friends and fellow players without having to leave campus.

The strongest competitors will have the chance to progress towards the UK National Final in November, where players will battle for the opportunity to represent the UK at the Red Bull Wings Cup World Final in Miami in January 2027.

The global competition is centred around EA SPORTS FC 27 and is open to players through a series of online and offline qualifiers.

For Swansea students, the university qualifier provides an opportunity to get involved directly on campus, whether they are experienced gamers, football fans or simply looking to compete with friends.

Players will be able to test their skills while also picking up exclusive Red Bull Wings Cup cans.

Limited Edition Red Bull Wings Cup cans launched nationwide on September 1 and include a QR code and unique code beneath the tab.

These can be redeemed for 250 EA SPORTS FC 27 Season Points, an exclusive Red Bull Wings Cup Ultimate Team Kit and a Red Bull Wings Cup Loan Player Item.

Players have been able to prepare their Ultimate Teams using the redeemable in-game rewards since September 18.

Registration for the wider Red Bull Wings Cup opened on September 27, with PlayStation Tournament Online Qualifiers running until November 1 and University Qualifiers continuing until November 7.

Players progressing through the PlayStation Tournament Open Qualifiers and Red Bull Wings Cup live activations will move on to online FACEIT Closed Qualifiers.

These will feature a single-elimination bracket, with six of the country’s top players progressing to the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London for the UK National Final on November 14.

Those competing in London will then go head-to-head for the opportunity to represent the UK at the World Final in Miami in January.

Red Bull Player Angry Ginge and EA SPORTS FC esports star Tekkz will front the competition throughout the campaign.

Red Bull Player Angry Ginge said: “I’m proper excited to be part of Red Bull Wings Cup. EA SPORTS FC is a massive part of my life and content, but this is a chance to experience it in a completely different way, with anyone able to get involved and compete for the chance to take it all the way to Miami. I’m looking forward to seeing who steps up and makes it to the World Final.”

Alongside the competition, an ASDA-exclusive Red Bull Wings Cup four-pack is offering fans the chance to win a range of football and gaming prizes.

These include a trip for two to the World Final in Miami, 23 pairs of Premier League match tickets, Red Bull Wings Cup jerseys, a PlayStation 5 Pro, PlayStation DualSense controllers and copies of EA SPORTS FC 27.

The Swansea University qualifier takes place on November 3, ahead of the UK National Final later that month.
