It’s Monday morning. You have just awoken but can’t quite pull yourself out of bed. It’s week three of a nationwide heatwave and you are not feeling your best. Well. Neither is Brexit Secretary David Davis.

This is not a drill. This is real life (honest). As you come around from what can only be described as a nightmare; you have to ask the question.. is there now going to be another General Election? Following Friday’s lock-in at Chequers, the Prime Minister Theresa May revealed her Government’s compromise Brexit plan; but not all agree that this is the right way to move forward.

David Davis resigning at such a crucial time shows @Theresa_May has no authority left and is incapable of delivering Brexit.

With her Government in chaos, if she clings on, it's clear she's more interested in hanging on for her own sake than serving the people of our country.

In his resignation letter to the Prime Minister, David Davis reiterated that he had disagreed with the Number 10 policy line on multiple occasions over the last year or so and evidently this latest development was not something he could support.

With a Brexit White Paper due on Thursday, this was set to be a week where more and more information would be revealed but now everything must surely come to a thundering hault? With three of the five Brexit department’s ministers having now resigned, and with only months until the United Kingdom is set to leave the European Union we take a look at how Assembly Members across Wales have reacted to this latest development.

The resignation of David Davis shows that the UK Government is in complete disarray over #Brexit and action urgently needs to be taken to resolve this chaos – businesses need certainty and the country needs leadership and direction

So – in last few months Theresa May has lost her Defence, Home and Brexit Secretaries – time for #GE or @peoplesvote_uk #Brexit

    — Stephen Doughty HC MP (@SDoughtyMP) July 8, 2018

In case anyone has a hint of sympathy for @DavidDavisMP just remind yourself where he started from. His #Brexit forecast – provided with clear undeniable certainty – was always an absolute fantasy. https://t.co/3ACnxxY4oe

#Brexit yn llanast llwyr. Gymaint yn y fantol, a’r amser i’w ddatrys mor brin.#Brexit is an absolute mess. So much to be resolved, so little time.

**The guy delivering Brexit has just resigned because he disagrees with the policy for delivering Brexit**

We are leaving the European Union – It's about time the Government genuinely listened to people on both sides of the debate. No more putting Party before Country. We need a deal that protects jobs and industry.

My constituents in #AlynandDeeside deserve better than this.

    — Jack Sargeant MS (@JackSargeantAM) July 9, 2018

Not deliverable as promised but we are all stuck with the #Brexit lies & the refusal to compromise with reality. https://t.co/bw7D65Eucn
