A free event aimed at showing just what a university education could offer is being held in Swansea city centre on Tuesday 6 July.

Hosted by Swansea University as part of the Adult Learning Programme, the event will empower and support those 21 and over living in South West Wales on their first steps towards higher education.

Held at Oriel Science’s new exhibition venue, steps away from Castle Square, visitors will experience fantastic hands-on exhibits and be able to find out about further learning opportunities.

A series of sessions will also take place, including Secrets of Mummification and Lego for Mindfulness – these can be booked online or in-person on the day.

Claudia Mollzahn, Adult Outreach and Engagement Officer at Swansea University said: “We offer free events, information sessions and short courses to help the public discover new learning opportunities that can lead to formal qualifications.

“This event is perfect for those who are over the age of 21 and feel like they haven’t made the best of school or are looking for a change in direction.

If you’ve missed out on further education due to poor health, inadequate housing, or career responsibilities and would like to return to formal learning, we’re here to help.”
