The Team at Focus Newtown Enterprise Hub are holding a virtual conference with a difference next week (Thursday 8th July), in partnership with the Wales Co-operative Centre. Focusing on balancing profit with purpose, ‘The Only Way is Ethics’ aims to encourage businesses to think about implementing a culture shift to create positive change for their employees, communities and the planet.
Running on Thursday 8th July 2021 from 12:00 – 15:00, the conference will feature award-winning speakers including Rifhat Qureshi, founder of Modest Trends London, Andy Middleton, Chief Exploration Officer at TYF Group, and finally Dai Hankey, one of the founding directors of Manumit Coffee Roasters.
In 2019, Rifhat won the award for New Business of the Year at the Welsh SME awards, and more recently, featured as the first Abaya and Hijab store in Oxford Street, London. The brand prides itself on ethical sourcing and community contribution.
Andy is a speaker, innovator and catalyst for large-scale sustainability change. He works on cross-sector projects that reconnect nature, health and wellbeing through education, imagination and enterprise, recalibrating plans and actions to match the challenges their organisations and humanity face.
Manumit Coffee Roasters is a not-for-profit business, formed in 2017 with the sole purpose of providing meaningful employment to survivors of modern slavery in a safe and supportive environment.
