A Cardiff coffee shop owner has expanded into new premises in Cardiff Bay to serve office and government workers in the area.

Laura Wiltshire has opened her second branch of MooMoo’s Coffee Shop in Discovery House at Brittania Quay, which is part of the Parmer Cardiff Waterside development. It will cater for staff in the 400,000 sq ft of office space across seven office buildings, including 3 Assembly Square, Caspian Point and Scott Harbour, which are home to a number of high-profile private and public sector tenants.

MooMoo’s has taken a five year lease on the premises at an annual rent of £12,000.

Laura said: “I set up my first MooMoo’s at Heath in Cardiff four years ago and have been waiting for the easing of the lockdown to enable me to open in Cardiff Bay. The level of business there has already exceeded my expectations and there is lots more scope to increase business.

“I hope to offer catering services such as corporate buffets to the local businesses in the near future.”

Property consultancies Knight Frank and EJ Hales were letting agents for the property deal within the Parmer Cardiff Waterside estate. Tom Eddolls of Knight Frank, who represented the landlord in the deal, said: “As people increasingly return to office working, this unit in Discovery House offers a great opportunity and we wish Laura and her team well in their expansion into Cardiff Bay.”

Edward Lockyer, head of European office and industrial asset management at Global Mutual, which manages Parmer Cardiff, said: “We are committed to enabling our occupiers to attract and retain the best talent and in the post-Covid landscape we know that means providing the environment, facilities and infrastructure to encourage ideas, productivity and wellness. The arrival of MooMoo’s Coffee Shop in this thriving waterside commercial quarter increases the range of reasons for businesses to want to be based here.”
