City finance professional Diana Rogers has joined the investment team at Tata Steel subsidiary UKSE in Wales.
Diana brings extensive experience in financial markets, having worked across asset finance and private credit. Most recently, as a Portfolio Manager at Triple Point, a leading UK investment manager, she managed and monitored revolving credit facilities, supporting property bridging lenders and SME finance providers.
She studied Business and Finance in Riga, Latvia, before moving to the UK and taking up the roles in the City of London.
Diana, who now lives in Abergavenny, said she was delighted to have joined UKSE and was looking forward to working with Welsh SME’s to develop their growth plans and create lasting jobs.
“I am excited to be working as Investment Executive with UKSE at this time, especially as the organisation aims to make a social impact, creating jobs and supporting steel communities, “ she said.
Area Manager for UKSE in Wales Michelle Noble, said: “Diana joins us at a critical time as the local economy continues to adapt to changes in the steel sector. She will help us build on the highly successful Support Programme for Wales, UKSE’s response to the move to greener steel making at Port Talbot, which saw £4.6 million invested in 106 businesses, including 50 start-ups many launched by ex-steelworkers.
“We have calculated that the programme created and sustained around 520 jobs for ex-steel workers, as well as the wider workforce,” added Michelle.
UKSE continues to provide finance to Welsh firms , providing equity investments up to £1 million. “We know many businesses in Wales would benefit from a capital injection in the form of equity,” she said.
Michelle is leading UKSE in Wales as the organisation marks 50 years.
In that time it has supported some 83,000 jobs in the UK with loans, equity investments and grants, and combinations of these. UKSE owns and runs Cardiff Bay Business Centre and Ebbw Vale Innovation Centre, home to a range of new and established firms.
