Andrew Gibson has joined strategic real estate adviser Avison Young as Director of Capital Markets in Wales.

He joins from Cushman & Wakefield in Cardiff where he headed the Capital Markets and Development team.

Peter Constantine, Managing Director and Principal, Avison Young in Cardiff says,

“Andrew has an impressive track record and is a respected figure in the industry in Wales. We’re delighted he has agreed to join Avison Young and work as part of our experienced agency team to further drive our business forward.   His wealth of knowledge within the capital markets and development sectors will be an asset, complementing the skills that our talented teams bring to client advice across all market sectors.”

Andrew’s experience has covered key strategic deals in Wales over recent years, such as providing the sale & leaseback advice in structuring the disposal of the c.27 acres GE Healthcare facility, Coryton and the acquisition of the Red Dragon Centre on behalf of Cardiff Council.  Specialising in investment agency, development site acquisition and disposal, Andrew works with development clients and occupiers such as Premier Inn within the leisure/retail sectors and has provided strategic consultancy advice to a number of local authorities in Wales.  Andrew is also a member of the FBE committee and currently Chairman of the Lords Taverners Wales charity.

Andrew says, “This is a very exciting time to be joining Avison Young, during a period of focused growth across their UK and global platform.  The Cardiff & South Wales market continues to impress with a long list of large-scale development projects being supported by both the private and public sector.  Having operated within the property industry in Wales for 16 plus years, I’m very much looking forward to taking the next steps within my career as a part of the expanding Avison Young team.”
