Guinness PRO14 games will be shown in Welsh on S4C for the next three years.

An agreement between S4C and Celtic Rugby means that there will be Guinness PRO14 games every week on S4C during the regular season. Matches will be broadcast live on television and online via the S4C Clic service, and commentary will be through the Welsh language only.17 games will be live on S4C during the season, including Christmas and New Year derby matches and, should a Welsh region be involved, live coverage of the Guinness PRO14 final. Further coverage will also be available on an as-live basis.

The agreement secures free-to-air coverage for rugby fans for the next three seasons.

Owen Evans, S4C Chief Executive, said:

“I’m delighted that S4C will be continuing with live coverage of our four Welsh regions in the Guinness PRO14, one of the world’s leading rugby competitions.

“This three-year agreement underlines our commitment to broadcasting rugby in the Welsh language, and we hope the news will be welcomed by all supporters of Welsh rugby. It is important to us and our audience that we can continue to offer free-to-air coverage of the Guinness PRO14.”
