Following today’s Welsh Government announcement, Cardiff Winter Wonderland has announced that they will be closing the Ice Rink and Ice Walk, along with the Ice Bar this week.

They had been taking bookings right up until the first week of January, but they now won’t reopen after Christmas.

In a statement released this afternoon, organisers said:

“This is in-line with the Welsh Governments recent announcement regarding updated Covid safety announcement.”
Those with tickets will be refunded automatically processed within 48 hours including your booking fee with the money paid being returned to the original source of payment. Customers will receive a notification of the refund process via email.

Penguin skate aids are a separate transaction so will be refunded in addition to your ticket booking – you will receive a separate refund confirmation for any penguins on your order.

Organisers have asked customers not to contact them directly about the refunds, as they will be processed automatically.

“Please do not contact TicketSource or the event organiser to request a refund, these will be activated automatically. Once you have received your refund confirmation from TicketSource the refund will be processed.

“If you have booked online, or by telephone with TicketSource their system will initiate a refund for the value of the tickets and booking fee. You will receive a notification of the refund process in a separate email.

“If you have booked and paid by any other payment method, please contact the event organiser directly.

“Thank you for your support, we wish you all a very safe and Merry Christmas.”

This is the second year running that organisers have had to end their ice rink plans early because of covid.
