It promises to be much more than a ‘food festival’ – as well as all the culinary delights, there will be attractions and entertainment for all ages over the two days, bringing a feast of food and fun to Rhondda Cynon Taf this summer.

Attractions this year include The Runner Pack, a fun-filled show featuring a brace of ducks being put through their paces by their friendly sheep dog pals; Black Mountain Falconry, an exciting Birds of Prey display; Game Show Mania, with host Chunkie Russell; and The Black Rock Llamas, starring Corky, Caspa and friends.

[/aoa]All the above attractions will be featured on both days, along with go-karts, farm animals, a funfair for all ages and walking fruit and veg characters!

Big Welsh Bite 2018 is the Council’s annual two-day festival which attracts thousands of visitors from all over.  Admission is FREE.

Cllr Maureen Webber, Council Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Council Business, said:

“Big Welsh Bite promises to be two days packed with fun and activities for all ages. It is always a popular event is always a highlight in our calendar each year.

“Big Welsh Bite will have lots of food and crafts stalls over both days, but also a packed programme of arena shows.

“Brining many people into the area, Big Welsh Bite showcases and celebrates local companies and produce, and also provides a boost to the local economy as more and more people come along to enjoy the atmosphere and surroundings at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park and the town centre.”

As well as all the attractions on offer, there is no getting away from the food at Big Welsh Bite – from cupcakes to curries, pastries to pulled pork, there will be a wide selection of stalls on both days, all offering mouth-watering treats for all culinary tastes, for visitors to sample on the day as well as to take home.

All produce available at Big Welsh Bite 2018 will be grown, reared, caught, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stallholders themselves, resulting in a scrumptious range of local produce.

There will be plenty of parking available in and around the town centre over the weekend, all within walking distance of Ynysangharad War Memorial Park. It costs just £1 to park all day in long-stay Council car parks on Saturday and FREE on Sunday.

Big Welsh Bite 2018 takes place at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd, the home of the National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, on August 4-5, from 11am until 5pm. Admission is FREE. All are welcome. For all the latest Big Welsh Bite updates visit www.bigwelshbite.co.uk
