Outwrite shortlisted for two integrated PR awards

A North Wales-based PR agency is continuing its strong start to the year after being shortlisted for two industry awards.

Outwrite PR is up for best integrated communications campaign as well as integrated PR agency of the year at the PR Moment Awards.

The PR company, which secured 15 new contracts last year and doubled the size of its team to six people, kick-started 2022 with new client wins and further recruitment.

Outwrite, which won five PR awards in 2021, worked with Jones Bros Civil Engineering and Cambridgeshire County Council on a £32m level crossing scheme, with PR activity including media relations, community updates, print newsletters, videos, and an interactive CGI webpage.

The campaign scooped the top prizes in the construction and integrated categories at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide awards, and Outwrite managing director Anthony Bullick is hoping for more success.

He said: “We’re very fortunate that Jones Bros and Cambridgeshire County Council place such a high importance on communications for their projects, particularly around stakeholder engagement.

“The pandemic also provided an opportunity for the PR activity to be creative, and the behind-the-scenes videos and interactive CGI page have gone down particularly well in the absence of physical site visits for the local community.

“A recent comms survey for the project was overwhelmingly positive, with one person commenting that it should be the blueprint for all construction schemes. This perfectly illustrates the impact of strategic, integrated PR.”

Outwrite bolstered its team last year with Tom Norris and Alexia Jones joining as account executives, while Calhan Behrendt was promoted to account manager, on the back of new contracts and additional projects with existing clients.

Anthony added: “Recruitment is tough for many industries including our own, but our focus on genuine training and development opportunities for the team plays a crucial role in attracting and retaining talented people.

“We’re actively recruiting again and I’m looking forward to the team growing further over the next 12 months.”

The PR Moment Awards celebrate excellence and recognise and reward outstanding campaigns and exceptional talent in the UK PR and communications sector.

The awards ceremony for the north takes place on Thursday 12 May at Manchester Hall.

Outwrite’s clients include construction firm Wynne Construction, Jones Bros Civil Engineering UK, Warrington-based Watsons Solicitors, and specialist residential care provider Meddyg Care.
