M.R.S. Communications Ltd has partnered with Swansea BID (Business Improvement District) to invest in state-of-the-art technology to keep its members and the public safe in Swansea City Centre.

Based in South Wales, M.R.S. Communications is a market leader in radio networks for retail and night-time economy businesses throughout the UK and specialise in providing high quality two-way radio systems.

The company is behind the revolutionary StoreNet and NiteNet radio surveillance systems which allow businesses to communicate and work together to manage and prevent crime.

M.R.S. Communications has teamed up with Swansea BID to replace the region’s current radio network with the latest generation of Motorola radios.

Swansea BID is one of over 320 business improvement districts in the UK. The business-led and managed partnership provides organisations with opportunities to collaborate and improve their trading environment and delivers investment into Swansea City Centre.

Swansea BID’s investment in the latest radio technologies through their partnership with M.R.S. Communications will provide assurance to the businesses in its catchment that the team is working to reduce crime and improve security, as well as ensure the safety of members of the public within the city.

David Horton, Managing Director of M.R.S. Communications, said: “Twenty years on from our first system being commissioned in the city, we are delighted to be helping to improve the safety of businesses and the people of Swansea once more.

“Swansea BID is committed to listening to the businesses it represents and investing in their needs, and our partnership to upgrade their radio network is proof of their dedication to continuously improve business and public wellbeing.”

Russell Greenslade, Swansea BID Chief Executive, said: “Swansea City Centre is a safe environment for businesses to operate in but we know that security is always at the top of the agenda of our BID area businesses. So, it is key that we continue supporting them with this priority.

“The StoreNet and NiteNet systems will further empower businesses to work together to prevent crime in their area and to report any issues at the earliest opportunity. This upgraded radio system for our businesses will be an invaluable tool in our arsenal when it comes to making our city centre as welcoming as it can be.”
