A business advisory service is re-launching a peer-to-peer board to encourage collaboration and provide support for owner-directors in North-East Wales.
David Roberts of The Alternative Board (TAB) is bringing back its third peer board on 24 May, designed exclusively for businesspeople whose companies turnover between £5m and £10m, or those aspiring to do so.
Led by David, who is also chair of the North Wales Regional Skills Partnership, the sessions allow up to six like-minded directors to exchange advice and discuss the shared problems they face.
David is urging those interested to not delay taking their seat, as places at the table will be limited to ensure meetings remain focused and as productive as possible.
He said: “As industries in North Wales forge ahead post-pandemic, it’s important that leaders feel supported, and what better way to ensure this than by calling on the talent and experience on your own doorstep.
“In my experience, the confidence of business owners skyrockets when given the opportunity to collaborate with peers on the issues that they are facing, as well as the encouragement and a sense of accountability to execute clear strategies.
“Running an organisation can be an isolating experience as people deal with issues exacerbated by the pandemic such as recruitment, supply chains and rising costs.
“Given it was lockdown which put this board on hold in the first place, it seems like the perfect time to bring it back to help with these challenges, as well as opportunities that lie ahead.
“Ensuring the success of business leaders can only mean good things for the overall health of the local economy, as it will open up more opportunities for prosperity within North Wales.”
As well as hosting collaborative sessions at TAB, David also holds one-to-one meetings where he offers guidance to members, keeping them on the right track to meet their objectives.
He added: “It doesn’t matter what sectors my board members come from as I have seen first-hand that they all stand on common ground when it comes to ensuring the success of their organisation.
“Businesspeople should never feel alone in tackling their problems, or maximising opportunities, especially when there is support like this available to them.
“Gaining fresh perspectives can not only strengthen their companies but help owners and directors develop new skills and achieve their own goals too, thereby leading a more fulfilling life.
