Cardiff comedy event to be held at Norwegian Church

White Cat Theatre will be performing “Art” by Yasmina Reza, translated by Christopher Hampton, at the Norwegian Church Arts Centre in Cardiff Bay this September.
Art examines the reactions of Marc and Yvan to an expensive large white painting bought by their friend Serge. The unexpected purchase causes the three friends to explore what brought them together in the first place, and what keeps them together after fifteen years of friendship.

French author Yasmina’s award-winning comedy will be performed over three nights by Cardiff’s newest amateur theatre group on Thursday 8th, Friday 9th and Saturday 10th September with doors opening at 7pm and the show beginning at 7.30pm.

The Norsk Café Bar will be open before and after the show.
Tickets costing £10 per person, including a free programme, can be bought online at whitecattheatre.cymru or bought on the door for cash or card.
Free parking near the church after 6pm.
Art is also the directorial debut for Flora Freeman after nearly 20 years treading the boards who said:
“I was attracted to the play as it explores the different types of friendships that people have. I’m sure audiences will be able to identify the different characters in their own friendship groups – one who acts on impulse, another that reacts badly to it and of course the peacemaker.
“It’s also a really interesting time in the lives of our three characters as Serge gets over his divorce, Yvan prepares for his wedding and Marc wonders what is next for him.
“I hope that people coming away from the show will realise the value of all the friendships in our lives, and that although they may be strained at times, we should hold onto them closely.”
