Life-saving defibrillators have been installed at all the touring and holiday home parks owned by Morris Leisure.

The company owns six parks across Shropshire and the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales, catering to all types of touring caravans, motorhomes and other recreational vehicles.

Morris Leisure also offers a wide range of static caravans and lodges for sale at its tranquil, countryside locations.

Keen to help visitors and members of the local communities, the company has installed the defibrillators to ensure the best chance of survival in the event of a cardiac arrest when every second counts.

The defibrillators were supplied to the Shrewsbury-based company by London Hearts who help fund Public Access Defibrillators (PADs) in communities across the UK.

“When someone has a cardiac arrest, timely intervention is the key to survival,” explained Paul Perry, Morris Leisure’s facilities manager. “By making more defibrillators available, the better the chance of survival for a cardiac arrest victim.

“With the effective and speedy delivery of treatment, survival can be raised to 70 per cent, but this requires CPR chest compressions and the use of a defibrillator. The chance of survival decreases by 10% per minute after a cardiac arrest, so the faster help can be given the better the outcome.

“The units are registered on a national network, connecting defibrillators to NHS ambulance services across the UK, so that in those crucial moments after a cardiac arrest, they can be accessed quickly to help save lives.

“Anyone wishing to use a defibrillator in an emergency, can obtain the keypad code by calling 999 and giving the site address.”

Morris Leisure owns Stanmore Hall Touring Park at Bridgnorth, Oxon Touring and Holiday Home Park at Shrewsbury, Ludlow Touring and Holiday Park at Ludlow, Bow House Country Park near Bishops Castle, Llanberis Touring Park at Llanberis and Riverside Touring and Holiday Home Park at Betws-y-Coed.
