Famed chef and restaurateur Marco Pierre White was in Swansea earlier in the week visiting his Steakhouse restaurant which is located in the SA1 area of the city.

He dined with friends at the popular harbour side venue during a visit to South Wales where he caught up with both the kitchen and serving staff to chat about menus, service levels and new dishes.

Ellie Boer, restaurant manager said: “It’s always great to see Marco visit us here in Swansea.

“He spent a lot of time with our head chef John (Taylor) discussing new menu ideas and dishes and what he thought about the new Autumn and Sunday Roast menu which we’re just about to launch. We then spoke about guests’ experiences and the importance of creating memorable experiences before he dined in ‘Marco’s Table’ which is our private dining room.

“He also mingled and chatted with guests who were both delighted and surprised to see that the person the restaurant is named after was actually there in person to check that everything was up to his exacting standard.

“He takes a lot of interest in his restaurants and it’s always great to see him here in Swansea. It gives the team a real boost and they were all buzzing during and after his visit.”

Head chef John Taylor added: “His knowledge of food and dining out is second to none and it was inspiring to spend some time with him. Marco never over complicates things, especially when it comes to food and that’s precisely what we offer here at the Steakhouse Bar & Grill.”
