Bank holiday bus users and extreme sailing enthusiasts are getting vital travel advice from Cardiff Bus.

The operator is alerting customers to changes to bus services over the forthcoming three-day weekend, with many set to attend the much-loved Cardiff Harbour Festival.

Services on Saturday and Sunday will remain the same over the weekend, however a Sunday service will run throughout bank holiday Monday.

Customers can access more information online at www.cardiffbus.com or visit the operator’s Facebook and Twitter channels for information and updates over the weekend.

The operator is also running its Baycar service to the Cardiff Harbour Festival, which will be taking place from August 25 to the 27 in Cardiff Bay. This year the event will also be hosting the adrenaline-fuelled Extreme Sailing Series, which is returning to Cardiff for the seventh consecutive year.

To enable festival-goers to fully enjoy the event, not only will Cardiff Bus be running its Baycar service to and from the festival, but its open top vintage bus will also be travelling from the city centre during the bank holiday weekend, depending on weather conditions.

Families can enjoy all the bank holiday fun with a family day-to-go ticket, which is reduced in price during bank holidays and weekends. They can travel in Cardiff and Penarth for just £5.30, while travel to Cardiff and Barry is £7.50, and journeys around Barry cost £4.50 for a family ticket.

Cardiff Bus commercial manager Gareth Stevens urged people across the city to “get out and enjoy the full range of festivities” taking place this bank holiday.

He said: “Cardiff has so much to offer everyone this bank holiday, whether you’re looking for a fun family day out, want to explore the city, or enjoy the adrenaline-fuelled Extreme Sailing Series.

“To enable everyone to experience the best that Cardiff has to offer this bank holiday, we are offering a range of great family ticket options for those travelling in and around the city.

“We’re also keeping the service disruption to a minimum for bank holiday travellers, by maintaining our usual services over the weekend, and running a Sunday service on Monday.

“We hope everyone has a great weekend and we’d like to remind everyone that all essential travel information can be found online at www.cardiffbus.com.”
