Poundland is putting the finishing touches to its new bigger Llantrisant store to bring shoppers even more choice and value to help household budgets go further.
The new store at Glamorgan Vale Retail Park, Talbot Green, Llantrisant opened at 8.00am Saturday 18 February 2023.
Double the size of the previous one and spanning 6921 sq ft the store will employ 32 full and part-time colleagues, with 24 transferring from the smaller Poundland on the same retail park which closes on Friday 17 February 2023.
It will offer even more everyday essentials such as groceries, drinks and snacks that shoppers love, as well as new frozen and fresh food ranges in addition to beauty, entertainment, stationery and craft options.
Poundland Llantrisant will also offer a selection of Pep clothing, for the first time, as well as Pep home items.
The store has been designed for maximum convenience and to allow customers to do more of their shopping in a single trip.
It will join the growing number of Poundland stores, now across half of the portfolio, to sell chilled and frozen food, from desserts and ice-cream to ready meals and pies and from cooked meats to frozen vegetables. One of the big advantages of frozen food when household budgets are under pressure is that they enable customers to save money and reduce waste.
Poundland director of retail, Darren Kay, said: “We can’t wait to open our doors at the new store at Llantrisant.  We’ve doubled the floor space meaning we can squeeze in even more amazing value across even more products.  Llantrisant shoppers will see a whole host of new additions including Pep clothing, new frozen ranges and an even bigger fresh offer.”
“As a result, our new Llantrisant store will be a cracking example of the breadth of what we can offer in a really convenient location.  We’ve worked hard to bring the very best of Poundland which in turn will help customers looking to beat the economic squeeze.”
