HSBC UK Funding fuels Welsh paddleboard company’s success

An award-winning paddleboard company in South Wales, has secured financial support from HSBC UK to meet increasing demands.

Based in Llantwit Major, Quroc Inflatable Paddle Boards plans to use the funding to expand in an ever-changing market and keep up with competition this summer. According to a recent Watersports Participation Survey by The British Canoe Union, a record 1.6 million people now own a paddle board in the UK, and, with the demand for paddle boards showing no sign of slowing, Quroc wanted to secure production slots and stay ahead of the competition.

The HSBC UK funding has enabled Quroc to allocate more resources towards streamlining its operations and build stronger partnerships with suppliers and manufacturers. Quroc is now able to prioritise investment in improving product quality, market presence and streamlining supply chains. This, in turn, has allowed the Quroc team to focus on growing the business by devoting more time and effort towards its expansion goals.

Andrew Price, Creative Director, and Founder of Quroc, said: “The bank’s support has been instrumental in establishing Quroc as one of the best and most reliable paddle board companies in the industry. As a company that prioritises delivering the best possible product to our customers, it’s crucial we work with partners who share our commitment to customer service and relationship management.”

Ceri Thomas, Business Banking Relationship Manager, for the South West added: “As the outdoor leisure market continues to experience sustained growth, we’re thrilled to be supporting Quroc as the business underlines its position as one of the UK’s leading suppliers of inflatable paddle boards.”

Founded in 2012 by Andy Price, Quroc has made a name for itself as a top UK brand. Dissatisfied with the quality of paddleboards available at the time, Price set out to create something better and Quroc was born. Today, the company is an established player in the market, partnering with organisations like the South Wales Paddleboard Club in Cardiff Bay to put its boards to the test and ensure their quality.
