The New Saints FC are thrilled to confirm the signing of Dan Williams who will join the club following the expiration of his contract at EFL Championship side Swansea City.

Williams comes as no stranger to TNS supporters following a successful loan spell at the club last season where he made 29 appearances across all competitions as the club went onto achieve the domestic double.

The popular central midfield player scored two goals in his maiden season at Park Hall, netting his first goal in green and white against Aberystwyth in December last year.

After a strong first season with TNS, Williams will play a vital role for Craig Harrison’s side who kick start their UEFA Champions League campaign against Swedish champions, BK Häcken, in just three weeks’ time.

Prior to joining TNS, the 22-year-old developed through the ranks of Swansea City’s academy featuring regularly throughout the age groups right up to the under-23s. During his development, the midfielder also spent six months on loan at League of Ireland Premier Division side, Dundalk, back in 2022.

Speaking on signing permanently for TNS, Williams said:

“I am delighted to return to Park Hall on a permanent basis. Siince joining the club last September, Craig and the rest of the squad have made me feel right at home, so I am thrilled to be back here.

“It was great to play a key part in last season’s success but we have big ambitions to do even better this season starting with the UEFA Champions League fixtures in a couple of weeks’ time. The club has success within its DNA so I can’t wait for the season ahead”

TNS head coach, Craig Harrison, said:

“Dan played a crucial role within the team last season, so it’s great to have signed him on a permanent deal ahead of the upcoming season. In addition to his obvious on field qualities in midfield, he brings the right mentality and attitude to the group, so there was no doubt we wanted to sign him when the opportunity presented itself. I am looking forward to seeing him develop even further in the years ahead.”

    Club chairman, Mike Harris, said:

“We are ecstatic to have secured Dan on a permanent contract after his impressive performances for the club last season. His quality on and off the pitch was clear for everyone to see at Park Hall and I know he’ll be vital as we look to make a real impact both in Europe and domestically in the upcoming campaign.”
