Bridgend County Borough’s biggest jobs fair is returning to the Bowls Hall, Bridgend Life Centre on Thursday 14 September and there will be plenty of exciting opportunities on offer.

The ‘Bridgend Jobs, Careers and Prospects Fair’ is a free event run by the council’s Employability Bridgend team in partnership with Jobcentre Plus. The doors will open to visitors at 10am and the event will finish at 1pm.

Alongside the wide range of job opportunities available in the ‘Employment Zone’ visitors, including pupils from schools across the county borough, will be able to find out more about careers with the local authority in the ‘Career Zone’ and spend time in the ‘Training Zone’ which will feature various providers showcasing a range of development opportunities.

Some of the employers confirmed to date, are:

    • Bridgend County Borough Council
    • Avon Cosmetics
    • CGI
    • Tata Steel
    • Bridgend College
    • First Cymru
    • Every care

A range of temporary and permanent vacancies will be available to apply for on the day. Staff from a variety of council departments will be on hand to provide details on current vacancies with the local authority and the Employability Bridgend team will be available to offer support with applications.

Anyone looking for employment, volunteering placements, advice on training and support opportunities will find them at the Jobs, Careers and Prospects Fair.

Car parking at Halo Bridgend Life Centre is free for two hours at the front of the building, but your car number plate must be registered at reception. You can also get three hours of free parking at the Rhiw Car Park.

Over the years, the event has attracted large numbers of visitors, and employers have been matched with excellent candidates to fill their vacancies.

We’re delighted to be working with Job Centre Plus once again, to bring our latest jobs fair to Bridgend County Borough.

With free admission, easy access via public transport and free car parking, it’s easy to pop down and visit.

We have a great line-up of businesses taking part so far, with a wide range of opportunities on offer, from apprenticeships right through to full-time employment, there’s something for everyone.

    Council Leader, Councillor Huw David
