These drone shots show how far things have come at the new Parc Mawr housing development near Swansea.

The images of the Bellway scheme in the village of Penllergaer show rows of finished houses and work well advanced on many more properties.

The housebuilder is constructing 184 new homes at the site off Brynrhos Crescent to the south of the village.

Work began at the end of 2021 and now the first residents have settled into their homes.

Rhodri Davies, Sales Manager for Bellway Wales, said: “Seeing Parc Mawr from the air in these photographs demonstrates the excellent progress we’ve made.

“You can really start to imagine the growing neighbourhood and community that will eventually be established here.

“Among the finished properties are the two showhomes on site, so buyers interested in finding out more about Parc Mawr can get a feel for the style and quality of the homes by paying them a visit.

“The development is proving popular with people who want to live in a more rural area yet work in the city, as Parc Mawr is only six miles from the centre of Swansea. It’s also well connected for transport being not far from junction 47 of the M4 and Gowerton railway station.”

The showhomes at Parc Mawr are the three-bedroom Shipton and the four-bedroom Wenvoe house types.

The Shipton has a kitchen/dining room and a separate living room, and the main bedroom has an en suite shower room.

The Wenvoe has an open-plan kitchen/family room, utility room, living room and a separate dining room. Bedroom one has a dressing area and en suite shower room and there is also an en suite with bedroom two.

Parc Mawr will be made up of 147 two, three, and four-bedroom houses for private sale and 37 affordable homes for local people through shared ownership or rent. The first of the affordable homes were officially handed over to Swansea-based housing association Caredig earlier this year in January.

Prices at Parc Mawr currently start from £299,995.
