ADVENTURE TRAVEL has expanded their recruitment opportunities amidst the recent closure of local Welsh business, Windows and Doors Group, who entered administration on 2 October.

Windows and Doors Group had three sites in Rhondda Cynon Taf and employed up to 700 people across the UK. First formed in 1953, it was one of the UK’s largest uPVC window and door makers.

Adventure Travel, one of the leading transport operators in South Wales, is opening its doors and currently recruiting for drivers across South Wales.

The roles involve flexible working patterns and include both part-time and full-time work. All applicants will be guaranteed an interview, with positions available in their Taffs Well and Cardiff depots. Adventure Travel operates bus routes across the South Wales region with its fleet of over 165 vehicles, including more than 45 school buses and a number of privately hired coaches.

Adam Keen, Managing Director at Adventure Travel, said “We are sorry to see the loss of another key Welsh business, especially for the stress caused to those with jobs at risk. Amidst this financial crisis, with many experiencing job uncertainties, we are extending an invite to those who had previously worked for Windows and Doors Group to find their new role at Adventure Travel. We proudly welcome a diverse range of personnel from all career backgrounds and provide a dedicated training school offering free, unlimited in-house training, to ensure anyone and everyone can find a role with us regardless of their experience.

“We welcome anyone who is concerned about job stability, or searching for a career change, to get in touch for the latest vacancies.”

Vacancies primarily include PCV drivers – offering a joining bonus of £1,250 for qualified new employees – and trainee positions which allow successful candidates to earn a wage while they learn, with a guaranteed job and increase in salary once all training is complete. A number of family-friendly shift patterns are on offer, including heavy duties (50hrs+), light duties (35hrs approx.), part time, full time, permanent late shifts, fixed duties etc. all designed to help people plan their lives around their work commitments.
