A Bangor-based funeral directors has received micro loan backing from the Development Bank of Wales, allowing it to provide a new service for families.
Angladdau Enfys Funerals, based on Bangor High Street, was set up by friends Manon Williams and Louise White in 2020. As well as providing a space for customers to arrange funerals, they also offer an on-site chapel of rest and a multifunctional space for small services and gatherings.
Since setting up, Angladdau Enfys Funerals have provided funeral services for families throughout the north west Wales and as far as London, and they provide the wide range of services needed to arrange a meaningful funeral. Both Manon and Louise are also trained as celebrants.
The business has also built up a strong support within the local community, and have been appointed multiple times by families who have been pleased with the company’s sensitive and caring handling of funerals for loved ones. It is also a member of the Association of Green Funeral Directors and the National Association of Funeral Directors, and the directors are also trustees of a natural burial ground.
The service has now received a £5,000 micro loan from the Wales Micro Loan Fund, allowing the duo to set up a new grave tendering service, aimed at providing families with a comprehensive solution for the upkeep and beautification of burial plots.
The new service will include a range of maintenance tasks, including cleaning, stonemasonry preservation, and the placement of fresh flowers. Families will have the option to choose from a variety of service plans, including monthly or quarterly visits, as well as special occasion arrangements, such as birthdays and anniversaries.

The Wales Micro Loan Fund offers loans between £1,000 and £50,000, with repayment terms ranging from one to 10 years.
