In a celebratory nod to more than two decades of success, Spanish restaurant group Bar 44 is set to transport customers back in time this new year, by offering selected cocktails and tapas at 2002 prices throughout the month of January.
Running from Wednesday to Friday and on Saturdays until 3pm, the special offer encompasses all three of Bar 44‘s venues (Penarth, Cardiff, and Bristol) and features a revolving menu of throwback specials, showcasing signature dishes and cocktails reminiscent of Bar 44′s original offerings from its inaugural year in 2002.
That means you could book a table at the Cardiff, Penarth or Bristol branch of Bar 44 to enjoy a pint of Estrella (£3.50) or glass of wine (£3.20) or treat yourself to their Air Dried Beef & Manchego Caesar Salad (£4.25) or Mushrooms with Sherry & Sage on Toast (£3.95).
The Bar 44 group launched a similar offer last year. Co-founder Natalie Isaac explained, “This is our way of saying a heartfelt thank you to the customers who have supported us over the years – as well as being a welcome pick me up for people who might be feeling the pinch after Christmas. It proved wildly popular last year so we’re really looking forward to doing it again.”
Founded by siblings Owen Morgan, Natalie Isaac, and Tom Morgan, Bar 44 first emerged on the restaurant scene in Cowbridge, before expanding to Penarth, Cardiff, and Clifton Village in Bristol. Though the Cowbridge site has since closed, the group has also gone on to open the renowned Asador 44 restaurant in Cardiff and the boutique hotel Parador 44, which sits directly above.
Bar 44 is focussed on impeccably sourced ingredients served simply with a modern touch and a load of passion. Menus give equal billing to food and drink and use both the best local produce, as well as showcasing outstanding produce from Spain.
