The Sound of the Youth held a Youth Talent Show recently inviting young people from across Pembrokeshire to showcase their talents.

The event was planned by young people from Fishguard Youth Club who are part of the Big Lottery funded Big Music Project.

Hosted by Pembrokeshire Youth Service’s Tim Ramsey and Big Music Champions Ciara Sapsford and Olivia Austin, the audience were treated to eight acts showcasing a range of talents – from singing (Sydnee Turner, Daisy Richards/Maisie Millichip & Matt Freeman) dancing (Lily Sinnott & dance group Infusion), ukulele and singing (Esther Thornton), piano playing (Cody Millard) and a Star Wars lightsabre routine (Gracie Carson.)

During the interval, young people were served refreshments including the famous Mel’s Mocktails and homemade cakes made by the Big Music Champions.

After the interval, Sound of the Youth members from past Gethin Morris and Matt Freeman played a 30 minute acoustic set to the audience while the four judges tallied up the scores.

    The eventual winners were:

    • 1st Sydnee Turner (Pembroke Dock)
    • 2nd Lily Sinnott (Fishguard)
    • 3rd Daisy Richards and Maisie Millichip (St.Davids)

Steve Lewis, Pembrokeshire Youth Service, said “The credit for this event goes to the talented young people who performed on the night and the six young people who planned and delivered a very entertaining evening.

“It’s great to see young people planning and delivering projects to give other young people the opportunity to shine and showcase their amazing talents.”
