Does your schnauzer have star potential?  Does your labrador love the limelight? Does your corgi look cool on camera?

Visit Wales is searching for well-behaved pups to star in its latest ad campaign showcasing Wales as the destination for dog friendly staycations this year.

The Welsh tourism team is asking for dog-parents across the nation to put forward their beloved dogs to feature in the campaign by sharing a photo or video of their dog at their favourite Welsh location on social media, using the hashtag #CymruCanine / #CiCymru.

Whether they’re running across the sand at Rhossili, doing tricks on top of a mountain in Bannau Brycheiniog, or even enjoying a puppiccino in Porthmadog, Visit Wales wants to see your pooch put their best paw forward.

Wales is a nation of dog-lovers with a third of Welsh households (33%) owning at least one canine companion, and research shows that many of us can’t bear the thought of holidaying without them. In fact, there was a whopping 36% increase in dog-friendly bookings last year across the UK, with families craving pawsome holidays closer to home.

With over 20,000 miles of walking trails across the Welsh coastline and countryside, as well as hundreds of dog-friendly hotels, pubs and activities, Wales has a lot to offer couples, families, friends and solo travellers who have a doggo in their lives.

Filming for the ad campaign will take place at the end of April with the guardians of the winning pooches needing to travel to a secret location in Wales. The campaign will feature across TV, digital and social media.

There are only a few coveted spots up for grabs and shortlisted dogs will be revealed on Visit Wales’ social channels before a panel of advertising experts will decide who will make the ultimutt cut.

For more information on how to enter your dog into the casting call, please visit Visit Wales.
