The Newport Food Festival kicks off with a supper event on the evening of Friday 11 October at the Mercure Hotel’s NP20 Bar and Kitchen.

The festival’s patron chef, Hywel Jones, will be creating a delicious Wales-themed three-course meal. A vegan menu will also be available.

Details of the traders who will be at the traditional food market on Saturday 12 October have also been released.

Familiar faces returning to the festival include Beth’s Bakes, Spirit of Wales, and Sorai. There will also be some new stalls for 2024, including Red Room Confectionery and Scoffle Ya Waffle.

Beth Williams, owner of Beth’s Bakes said: “We have attended Newport Food festival for many years now and we love coming each year. It has become a key event on our food festival calendar, and we look forward to seeing the city bustling both with crowds and activity.”

A full list of confirmed traders is available to view on the festival website.

Saturday will also see the return of the talks and tasters which will be held in the Corn Exchange, and Friars Walk will be hosting the Vegan and Vegetarian Village.

This year Newport Market will once again hold the programme of chef demonstrations and will include the final of Newport Youth Academy’s Teen Chef competition.

Famous faces showcasing their culinary skills this year include TV chef, Cyrus Todiwala OBE DL FIH, and Newport’s very own Jon Jenkins, Great British Bake Off contestant in 2018.

Sunday 13 October has plenty of activities for all ages, including music from local band the Eurekas who will be kicking off festivities at 11am outside the Corn Exchange.

There will also be a children’s cinema in Newport Market and a children’s disco at 12pm which will take place in the Corn Exchange.

With lots packed in over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Newport Food Festival is sure to be a weekend of fun and festivity for all ages!

Tickets for the supper are limited and are on sale now, priced at just £49.50 per head. For more information or to book your place, visit our booking link.
