Cardiff Airport is set for a cracking Easter Weekend

Wales’ national airport is set to welcome more than 16,000 egg-cited customers over this Easter bank holiday weekend (30 March- 2 April), around 1,000 more than last Easter.

The top customer choice is Amsterdam – an ideal weekend destination for a city break and a connecting hub for customers flying onwards to long haul destinations such as New York, Miami, Toronto and Orlando with KLM. The airline is also set to celebrate 30 years of flying customers to the world from Cardiff in May.

The Easter break also marks the official start of the summer season at Cardiff Airport, with many airlines whisking customers off in search of some early Spring sunshine, including Vueling with flights to Alicante, Barcelona, Malaga and Palma Majorca.

Flybe, whose base at Cardiff is now in its third summer, along with its airline franchise partners, now offers a whopping 21 destinations to choose from including Jersey, Verona, Dusseldorf, Cork and Milan Malpensa.

Top 10 destinations for Easter 2018:

      • Amsterdam (KLM)
      • Malaga (Vueling/TUI)
      • Paris Charles de Gaulle (Flybe)
      • Rome Fiumicino (Flybe)
      • Munich (Flybe)
      • Berlin Tegel (Flybe)
      • Venice (Flybe)
      • Faro (Flybe/TUI/Ryanair)
      • Dublin (Flybe)
      • Jersey (Flybe)

Deb Barber, Chief Executive Officer at Cardiff Airport, said:

“Our airlines are offering more destinations than ever this Easter with many new routes on offer, including Venice with Flybe. Whether you fancy a short city break or a week away in the warmth the Easter break is a wonderful opportunity for people in Wales to fly from their local airport for a well-earned trip away.

“As the summer season of flying gets underway, we look forward to Iberia Express’ return with flights to Madrid, speciality charters with Super Break to Montenegro, Croatia and the Adriatic Coast and, of course, daily flights to Doha with Qatar Airways from the first of May”.
