The curtain is set to fall on Cardiff’s Blackweir 2025 summer concert series in spectacular fashion as the legendary Stevie Wonder takes to the stage tomorrow, Wednesday 9 July, for the grand finale of the inaugural event.

Part of his Love, Light & Song tour, this very special show is one of only three outdoor UK dates for the global music icon this year, making it a rare and unmissable occasion for fans.

The Blackweir Live series has already delivered a run of unforgettable nights on the banks of the River Taff. Noah Kahan kicked off the programme on Friday 27 June with an intimate and emotionally-charged set. Two days later, Kings of Leon, supported by Courteeners, brought stadium-sized anthems to the Welsh capital on Sunday 29 June.

The momentum continued into July with Alanis Morissette performing her 2025 World Tour on Wednesday 2 July, joined by special guests Liz Phair, Gwenno, and Megan Wyn. The very next night, Thursday 3 July, saw Slayer deliver a thunderous farewell show, backed by a stacked metal line-up featuring Amon Amarth, Anthrax, Mastodon, Hatebreed, and Neckbreaker.

Now, all eyes turn to Stevie Wonder.

With a career spanning over six decades, the 25-time GRAMMY Award-winner has become one of the most influential artists in music history. From soulful ballads to irresistible funk grooves, his back catalogue is a treasure trove of timeless hits. Attendees can look forward to hearing classics like Superstition, For Once in My Life, Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours, I Just Called to Say I Love You, and My Cherie Amour.

Stevie’s accolades are as legendary as his music, including a GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award, Golden Globe, Academy Award, and more than 100 million units sold worldwide. His iconic 1976 album Songs in the Key of Life is preserved in the US National Recording Registry for its cultural, historical, and aesthetic impact.

As the sun sets on Blackweir’s debut year, Stevie Wonder’s performance promises to be a heartfelt and joyous celebration of music, unity and legacy.

Final tickets are still available at blackweirlive.com
