The British Red Cross has announced its return to the National Eisteddfod of Wales taking place in Wrexham from 2 to 9 August. As one of Wales’ most cherished celebrations of culture, language and community, the Eisteddfod offers a powerful platform for organisations making a difference across the country.

Visitors are warmly invited to explore the British Red Cross stand (619-620), where the charity will bring its story to life through powerful showcases of its work supporting individuals and communities across Wales, the UK and internationally. Highlights include interactive exhibits, informative activities and direct engagement with staff and volunteers.

For over 150 years, the British Red Cross has been at the forefront of crisis response – offering safety, humanity and hope in times of uncertainty. In 2025 alone, the charity’s emergency response teams deployed to six fires in the Wrexham area, and to incidents in the wider area across North Wales. Volunteers were also involved in the response to Storm Eowyn in January which caused large scale power outages.

Red Cross health services support people across Wales, offering support for patients on their discharge from hospital to home, with practical help such as shopping, prescription collection as well as emotional support and advice about services in the area that the patient may need to access, while the charity’s refugee services provide trauma-informed, multilingual, and personalised support to those seeking protection and stability.

    Stand visitors will experience:

    • Live demonstrations with the JLR Defender emergency response vehicle
    • Daily activities including the Humanity Tree, children’s games, first aid demonstrations and cause-based education
    • Conversations with local teams on emergency support, health services, community education and refugee programmes

Katija Dew, British Red Cross Director for Wales said:

“We’re thrilled to be back at the Eisteddfod in 2025 — a celebration of Welsh culture, language, and community. It’s a fantastic opportunity to connect with people from across Wales and share more about our humanitarian work, both here at home and around the world.

“Our stand at the Eisteddfod will bring this story to life, showcasing the impact of our services, our teams and the incredible people we support across the UK and internationally. We look forward to welcoming visitors, sharing experiences, and celebrating the spirit of unity that defines both our work and the Eisteddfod itself.”
