South Wales Police are continuing their investigation into a fatal road traffic collision that occurred at 3:12pm on Monday September 29, 2025, near Morrisons on Ffordd Y Mileniwm, Barry.

The collision involved a black Mercedes C220 and pedestrian Jacqueline Ellis. Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone who is yet to come forward who may have witnessed the collision, the manner of driving before the collision, or have any dash-camera footage/CCTV which may be relevant to their investigation.

Jacqueline Ellis was taken to hospital by ambulance but sadly passed away on October 10, 2025.

Jacqueline’s family paid the following tribute:

“The sudden passing of Jacqueline in such devastating circumstances will leave an emptiness that will never be filled.”

Jacqueline had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.

Jacqueline was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Our memories of Jacqueline will last a lifetime and the memories we have together as a family

will never be forgotten by us or anyone that knew her.

As a family we would like to thank everyone who have sent messages of support and we now ask for time to grieve together.”
