The weekend is set to start on a frosty note across Wales, as a yellow warning for ice has been issued by the Met Office for the north-west and south-west regions for Friday morning.
With wintry showers early on, untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths could become icy and treacherous, there is a real risk of slips and falls.

Today (Friday): A cold and frosty start for many, with icy stretches likely in places. After this, the day will turn dry and bright with plenty of sunshine, and winds easing compared to recent days. As the afternoon progresses, sunshine may become hazy. The top temperature will reach around 7 °C.
Tonight: Expect a cold evening, though cloud and wind will build overnight as rain moves in from the west. Minimum temperatures may fall to around 0 °C.
Saturday: The rain is likely to arrive overnight and spread eastwards into the morning, accompanied by strong winds. Conditions should brighten up for a while in the afternoon before further rain or showers later in the day. It will feel less cold than Friday with a maximum around 12 °C. Met Office

- Take care on untreated surfaces this morning and early afternoon while ice risk remains.
