A unique collection of energy-efficient new homes, delivered by Acorn Property Group, within the historic parkland grounds of Hensol Castle in the Vale of Glamorgan, has been brought to the market by Savills. Interest in the scheme has been high, with several reservations already secured.
Nestled in picturesque countryside, Hensol Grove is set within the 650-acre grounds of The Vale Resort, a private estate and luxury hotel – also home to the Grade I listed Gothic-style mansion, Hensol Castle.
The Vale Resort is renowned for its two championship golf courses and premium amenities, including a tennis court and luxury spa. The estate also provides training facilities used by the Welsh National rugby team, the Welsh National football team and Cardiff City Football Club.
The scheme of sixteen homes is being delivered by independent development and regeneration specialist, Acorn Property Group, which has a track record of creating high-quality and distinctive conversions and new-build homes.

The first phase – The Mews at Hensol Grove – comprises ten homes encompassing nine 2 and 3 bedroom mews houses and one showstopping 3 bedroom bungalow.
Each residence will offer spacious, light-filled interiors and impressive views across a stunning walled garden, towards the castle and of the surrounding estate. Residents will have access to the estate grounds, tranquil lakes, and beautifully landscaped gardens.
The homes have been thoughtfully designed to prioritise sustainability. They have a predicted EPC B rating, thanks to features such as energy-efficient heating powered by a high-efficiency air source heat pump system, triple glazed windows and doors, EV charging points, and climate-conscious kitchens by Dutch manufacturer, Keller.
Claire Turner, associate director in the residential development sales team at Savills Cardiff, commented: “Hensol Grove is a special proposition, offering quality homes in a hugely desirable location, with lifestyle, natural beauty and history in abundance.
“The Mews at Hensol Grove represents the first opportunity to buy at this exciting development, and we have seen strong demand with a number of the homes already reserved off-plan. Now that construction is underway and the first phase has launched, we are anticipating high levels of interest as the scheme progresses.”
James Groombridge, Regional Managing Director of Acorn’s Cardiff and Cotswolds Region commented: “The launch of the first homes at Hensol Grove marks an exciting milestone for Acorn’s Cardiff region, and we look forward to working with Savills to bring these high-quality homes to market. The combination of historic parkland with sustainable living offers a unique opportunity for buyers.”
Phase two of the scheme – The Villas at Hensol Grove – will feature six 4-and 5-bedroom detached houses, with more details to come.
The first new homes at Hensol Grove are being offered to the market with guide prices starting from £660,000. For more information, please contact Savills residential development sales team in Cardiff on 02920 368940.
